The Pillaiyar/Ganesha idol with Saraswathi devi and Lakshmi devi on the first step was the very first idols bought by my mom when I was just 2 yrs old... Still these dolls have not lost their colour or texture... The Kalasam/kalash on the 3rd step is the centre of attraction, to which my mom does the pooja on all 10 days of the festival... The Ashtalakshmi set with the kalasam is the highlight of this step.
Lord Krishna, came to our house when I was 10 yrs old. My chithi bought this outside Anna Nagar Siddha Hospital.
There is a rule for the setting of idols for navarathri. God, Goddesses idols on the tops rows, then humans in the next middle rows, and then organisms with 5 senses at the lowest rows...
Since we don't get time to set all the idols and dolls in this order, we just arrange them in some random order based on the step's strength to hold them...
Good Kollu...
